Consulting Services
Document management is a very specialized field. While some credit unions have the internal resources to implement a best-practices environment, others do not. Bluepoint's Consulting Services Group (CSG) is available to ensure that your new document management system achieves its maximum potential across your entire enterprise. Bluepoint consulting services achieves this through:

Process Engineering/Re-engineering - Bluepoint Solutions has retained seasoned, credit union professionals who focus on strategic process design in the front office. Our consultants will identify mission-critical functions and streamline processes that are needed to satisfy members on the teller line, in a call center or in a lending operation. In addition, critical support requirements for forward-facing activities are identified, and detailed findings outline functional requirements for the organization.

Document Management Solutions - Our overview will help your management team or board of directors understand the basic technologies utilized by document imaging and document management solution providers in the context of your credit union's potential need for a revised management solution. Our consultants begin by reviewing your strategy in order to fully understand your unique business needs.

The session covers the basics of image acquisition and retention, how images are stored using various digital file types, types of storage media, how images can be turned into information, process improvement principles, new service opportunities, potential cost savings or revenue generation, and network access and security issues.

Beyond general information, our consultants can work with your assigned Bluepoint Solutions regional manager to customize and deliver an overview that is tailored to your credit union's unique situation and needs. We will present your team with a high-level overview of the benefits your organization can expect and the improved level of service your members will receive through the implementation of a carefully considered, document management solution.

The process requires seven to 15 days and includes an on-site needs assessment, report preparation and a formal presentation.

Strategy Development - An investment of time and financial resources in document management should be consistent with your organization's long-term strategy. When a formal strategy has not been fully developed, our consulting team will work with your project team to identify existing challenges related to document/information workflow systems and processes. They will identify organizational enablers and barriers to change, and determine alternative courses of action. Bluepoint will then provide a report of the team's findings, identify organizational objectives and propose a strategy to address credit union and member needs.

Feasibility Study Preparation & Review - Where a clear strategy has been defined, Bluepoint consultants work with a credit union's project team to develop a feasibility study.

Studies can range from a single application review to enterprise-wide initiatives, depending on each credit union's strategy. The results depend upon the needs of the credit union and the sophistication and availability of credit union resources to perform required tasks. Each study is based upon a scope of work document that is prepared after a detailed review of the credit union's document management strategy. Every Feasibility Study contains a combination of the following tasks:

  • Perform a needs-assessment for each business unit or department included in scope of work and identify functional requirements for a document management solution
  • Prepare a workflow-requirements analysis and process improvement recommendations
  • Develop system requirements
  • Prepare a business case for each functional area or process
  • Review cost justification of systems with credit union management and prioritize areas for improvement/investment
  • Provide RFP support and development as needed
